MicaTape for Fire-resistant Cables

Composition

R-5660 serials of Fire-resistant Mica Tape For Cable consists of phlogopite mica paper (or synthetic mica paper) impregnated with a special silicone resin and a glass cloth (or Polyethylene film) as supporting agent. These tapes have great flexibility and high tensile strength, and their combined characteristics mean they can be used to create inorganic, fire-resistant insulation for electrical cables.

According to mica paper, R-5660 series of Mica Tape h as two types :
5660-NT-X is made from phlogopite mica paper, retain insulation properties at 850 ¡æ / 1562 ¨H
5660-HT-X is made from synthetic mica paper, retain insulation properties at 1050 ¡æ / 1922 ¨H

Properties

 

•  Resist extreme thermal stresses and give outstanding fire protection;
•  Incombustible, asbestos free and do not create toxic gasses;
•  Good radiation and corona-resistance as well as good mechanical and electrical properties;
•  Excellent tensile strength and good shearing and shock resistance;
•  Excellent flexibility allows it to be used with the thinnest conductors

Apllications:

Fires can occur anywhere, but their effects can be particularly hazardous wherever large numbers of people are gathered together, where safety-related equipment is in use or in environments where there is a particularly high fire risk, in such fire condition, vital information and functions need to be maintained, and power and signal cables have to be adequately protected for a predefined period of time.
